COVID-19 Latest 25/03/2020
Following the very latest developments and the government decree that everyone stay at home as much as possible we have taken the decision to postpone all current bookings and are suspending the taking of any new bookings until further notice.
It was our opinion that sitting in a pigeon hide or a deer stalking high seat out in the fresh air was tantamount to self-isolation but having consulted the powers that be we reluctantly decided to close down for the time being.
Like everyone we hope this shutdown will be a short-term measure but the future is unknowable at this point.
Anglia Sporting will not be running any corvid days in May or June and although we generally start again with our pigeon days at harvest -time in July exactly when that might be this year is unknown at present and not only because of Covid 19 but also because the weather so far this year has put everything farming wise well behind. In addition we face another review of the General Licences under which we shoot pigeons and other ‘pest’ species. It’s possible we’ll see ever more restrictions on the shooting of pigeons, perhaps a close season, maybe even an outright ban so we are currently not taking any bookings for pigeon shooting that might take place after 01st August 2020 until we know more.
We are working on the assumption that our game shooting season will endure and are working towards that happening but we will wait and see until the summer before taking any firm bookings for either our driven days, our rough/walked up days or any of the other sporting opportunities we run.
Keep an eye on our newsletters for further updates.
Stay safe, Stay well and All Best Wishes.
